Yes it was pre-painted. I got it from Ramair hoods.
Ramairhood.com (warning) Service was really poor! They ETA'd me 4 weeks. I did not receive it until 8 weeks later. Communication SUCKED! In the end, it turned out great! Color match very well. and the fittment is perfect.
But I tell you what. The wait was worth it! I am getting so much "thumbs up" and compliments where ever I go.
Thanks you all for the compliments!

Thanks, that really looks great.
I was cruising another sponsor site yesterday, and their scoop was nothing like yours is...
But after looking at the price you paid, guess I will go with the "stick-on" scoop and save $1K.

That is ONE very impressive Charger. What kind of paint did you use on the calipers???My guess would be the red paint was applied to the calipers; quite a simple process with the help of an hydraulic jack to remove the wheels...
Been there, done it!

Dang didn't even notice the red calipers. If you did that, nice touch, if not, still looks good.

I contacted ram air and told them I had the mopar cai and they told me I needed to go with the non-functional ram air option (option 1)... Is your ram air hood functional or non-functional?
Otherwise, looks cool.

Thanks gojiro,
Mine is functional. I also have a Mopar CAI.

That's awesome that its a functional ram air. I was told that I could have a problem on rainy days. Too much water would come into the engine compartment and the CAI would start sucking water instead of air... Have you had any problems in the rain? Light or heavy rain?
I really want to add a ram air hood but I keep getting told it wouldn't work right with the cai.
It looks really tough with the hood...
Thanks.

No, I have not driven it in the rain yet. I waited till the rain season ended. But I am concerned about that. Fingers crossed.

Hey kupaa, nice ride and hood! Didn't I see your car on the other form...LX?
I'm assuming yours is functional in that it directs the air over to were the stock air intake is.
Ordered mine late last year and got the hood in Feburary, the intake... well still waiting :SNO: Their web site changed on March 20 to reflect "It'll be ready in a few weeks"... online status hasn't changed since. This is the intake that you will have to watch out for water if it's not built right, looks like the new Challenger will have the same type intake.

Thanks Hedge! Yes my hood is functional. Now are you talking about the filter for the hood itself? Is that what you are waiting for? I thought they will send it when they finally finish them? They are not charging us seperately for that filter are they? I am also concerned for water getting to the intake cone. I do see a drain whole by the opening that leads to the intake cone. Does yours have that? I thought they are developing a filter for the opening? I wondered what was taking them so long. We have to actually place an order for it?
Man Ramairhood is a piece of work! I swear!

The Charger gets many looks just on it's own but with the RAM Air hood it's gets many more lookers. It is sweet. :ylsuper:
I call it an intake, RAM Air calls it (Airbox and Highflow Filter). This come w/Pkg 3 or 5. If you ordered one of them you should be one of the first to get it when they "finally finish em".
If the intake cone box isn't sealed underneath then I would worry, it wouldn't act like a straw sucking up gallons-o-water. A little water will not hurt.
I still have the stock intake w/K&N drop-in filter. Also did the DIY scoop from the front venting to underneath the stock airbox. That's as close as I could get to the "Airbox and Highflow Filter" functionality. I bet that mine picks up moisture when running through puddles on the street.
I wonder how many have purchased and are waiting for the Airbox and Highflow Filter.
