Our '97 Caravan makes a noise as though a damper was being closed when either the doors are opened / closed or when you come to a stop. Also, with all of the heater and AC controls set to off, air is still felt coming from the floor vents.
I have completed and reset the HVAC computer settings successfully.

Any thoughts ?

I just removed the actuator and the plastic linkage at the recirculator door is broken. It has a bit of grease around it so when I clean that off I'll be able to see if the door linkage is removable or if it can be glued. That's tomorrows job.

Thanks
Tom

Good stuff, you may have to call the dealer for these parts if you are unable to repair it. I'm not sure if parts stores carry the door and the linkage.

Tom,
I think the problem is you are sunning yourself instead of engineering the repair. Maybe it thinks it a thermal vac system hot cold etc.

STeve,
The dealer wants approx $300 for the entire pkg, which is the only way it comes, no lever replacement avail., so out comes the glue.

I used some Loctite super glue and the jobs completed. Hardest part was aligning the arm on the actuator motor. Recal worked out just fine.
Thanks again for all of the great suggestions, directions and help.
