The PCm is the computer "Brain" of the car. PCM's arent known to fail in these cars but there is that chance. I would place money on it being the battery Temp sensor.
I have never needed to buy one but it can't be much.
The battery temp sensor is located on the Battery tray, Replae it and see if that works. If it does not work you may need a new PCM. If so dont rush out and buy the 600 $ factory replacement. If you have a DOHC MTX mopar makes one for 250 bucks or so. Alot cheaper than the OEM!!!!! Just out of curiosity I asked about the facotry computer price for my 98 dohc mtx ACR and the price was like 900 and some odd $'s.
All the OEM PCM's are above 600 dollars New. And for 1/3 of the money you can run 145 mph if you want! LOL.
Anyhow, good luck and let us know what you found out!

PCM stands for Power Control Module, also known as ECU (Engine Control/Computer Unit), ECM (Engine Control/Computer Module). Like ACR98 said, the "brain box" for the car. Controls all sensors related to engine operation (and then some) as well as fuel and spark curves in relation to data gathered by the sensors. Also limits certain things like max RPM and speed.
DO NOT BUY A NEW PCM. If you just want a stock replacement they go for $30-$50 used on ebay all the time. PCM's differ from SOHC to DOHC, ATX to MTX, as well as by year. '95 is seperate, '96 is seperate, '97-'99 are the same. The R/T and ACR PCM's had a boosted speed limiter, but are otherwise the same and will work on the corresponding year/model. Good luck.
