Had to take the day off today because of some family stuff, so in my down time I buttoned up my D-100 and got her running. Despite the truck's age and best efforts, I was able to fix the exhaust leak and quiet the truck down. Unfortunately, the truck still won't idle when warm, and stumbles a bit under acceleration. After 3 carb rebuilds, I've decided yet again to throw in the towel and ordered up a reman carb. That should take care of things once and for all...except for the ominous sign.

Looks like I might have damaged a power steering hose while climbing in and out of the engine compartment. Just after I started the truck, I noticed a puddle forming right under the steering box. Never leaked before. The curse continues...

"I was able to fix the exhaust leak and quiet the truck down."

THERE ya go!!!

After 3 carb rebuilds, I've decided yet again to throw in the towel and ordered up a reman carb.

VERY Probably a good decision. If nothing else, keep the 'core' so you'll have spare parts.

Looks like I might have damaged a power steering hose while climbing in and out of the engine compartment.

Small potatoes, m'man. After all you've spent on that rig, a hose is pocket change. (My 'city-owned' Furd Ranger started spitting out P/S fluid a while ago... Had to buy a rebuilt steering gear-box at a cost of $150.00 PLUS my cussing and screaming and throwing wrenches around, cursing Henry Ford about what pieces of S**T Furds ARE...) So... don't sweat the small stuff :D
