Ok first, this event was put on by the Nor Cal Shelby club - hence all the Mustangs, but open to anyone. Thunderhill is 2.8 miles with elevation change and varying corners, I think it's a really cool track.
This was my first time on a track, and it was really a lot of fun. The car handled great, and I think with some new wider tires and better driving it'll be even better! Other than that the car performed awesome! I was pretty conservative with passing but I still got to pass a good number of cars and most cars that I let pass wouldn't have been able to pass on the straights otherwise. This is non competetive of course with restricted passing zones. I look forward to next time and being a bit more agressive and faster with better driving. The in car video has really helped me notice a lot of things to improve on.
I got 5 run sessions and each was close to 30 minutes. On the last session they combined the 4 groups into 2 so my group got an extra passing zone that wasn't open in the other runs aswell as some more experienced guys running. A Mustang also spun out in the 5th run and got stuck in the mud, you can see him towards the end, it was some deep mud!
