AC compressor problem on '95

Hi y'all,

My 95 Intrepid ES has a problem with the AC compressor. What looks like a clutch assembly that the pulley wraps around has started to smoke and emit a black sludge when the AC is turned on.

Is this something that I can replace myself without removing the compressor? Any ideas on where to get instructions on R&R the part?

My 2nd compressor seized on the way home from the dealer 10 min after it was installed.

I didn't get any sludge, just a lot of smoke coming out...

What did you (or your dealer) do???

put in a new one again

it's been 2 or 3 years, no problems yet.

I did have to get a new condenser, but that's a different story
