Hi; New guy here. I'm the original owner of a "94 dodge B350 van. During a cold snap I used my heater and now when I turn the AC on the cold air blows out the floor (?) vents. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

The HVAC system uses vacuum to open and close various doors in the plenum to direct air where it is needed. I suspect a broken vacuum line, faulty vacuum diaphrams or bad controls. Get yourself a factory service manual....I found one for my '94 off of Ebay kinda cheap.

Nate;

I found a service manual on Ebay. It's on disk and not much except it pointed out that I had a cable actuated plenum rather than one driven by vacuum. I've got worse problems today...something let loose in the front end and now the thing is very hard to steer. Thanks for your help. SLW

It's both actually. The cable controls the temperature, but it uses vacuum to direct air to the floor, dash vents, or defroster vents. Here's a vacuum diagram for the HVAC for '94:

OK Sports fans...got it figured out; or rather my tech did. He found three
( countem 3! ) leaks in the vacuum line. got that fixed and after an AC recharge I'm blowin cold again. He also found the right front brake very worn and did a brake job..also found that the factory ( 1994? ) had installed the rear brake adjuster backword and fixed that. this guy was great!

Thanks all for your help.
