Looks nice. ACR98, thats no SRT-4, you should know that. the body says 2000-2002 (headlights, bumpers different), SRT's were only made from 03-05, LOL. Nice touch with the badge cutting though, creative.

You gotta have a little sense of hummor here or youll go mad !!!!!!!LOL

They are only Neon's Yes but the right one's kick the tar out of most other cars in their class. LOL So instead of saying it's only a Neon try saying it's just enough to beat a Rice Burner. LMAO Cheers

Oh man ur funny rice!
U must have ur kinder class in fits of giggles with ur standup routine! lol

Long live the 2 gens, Sexier car! And mod it right, like mine is it still cooks!

Take it easy on them 2nd gens Rice! They are just as much a Neon as the 1st gens.
Maybe a tad bit slower in the stock form but with the exeption of the NGC controlled cars they still have oodles of Potential. (dont they)?

I dig the way the 2nd gens look! They just begg for attention. Besides that I hear Hoodoo has the Locals Fearing his 2nd gen over there is Tazzie land. The newer ones with the NGC will definatelly get it's Patootie handed to it by some ricer. Then he's going to Screw up one day and tangle with the wrong neon and get an education. LOL

HAHAHA... Slim Fast... The funny thing is that my 2003 Neon R/T stock with a SOHC weighing in at 2700 lbs is making the exact same times as the much lighter 1995-1999 DOHC Neons. Okay maybe the 1st gen DOHC stocks were lighter and had a DOHC, but 2nd gen SOHC R/Ts make more horse and keep the times. If you put a high output magnum engine and hook ups in a first gen, you will be killing the quarter mile with SRT-4 slips. The weight to HP ratio would be sick. I really think anyway. 150 HP in a car that weighs less than a ton? You do the math. My car now is doing high 15s. Throw that engine in a car that weighs 1000 lbs lighter, I'm thinking you just took off 1.5 seconds. 0-60 in maybe 6.2. You can knock the 2nd gens, but the Neon came a long way with putting on weight, and keeping the same numbers with a SOHC opposed to the older DOHC. Props to the Engineers!

Ummm can i ask where you pull your info from? First, a ton is 2000lbs... NO neon was ever less than 2000lbs stock. (there are in fact few cars that are.. Lotus Elise/Exige is the only one that comes to mind at the moment, though there are a few more). And as far as your "High Output Motor" goes, yes, it is a 150hp SOHC, yes thats a relitively high output for a N/A 4 cylinder, But NO, it will not make a 1st Gen any faster, considering the DOHC engine also produces 150HP, although at a different RPM (again, we are bench racing here....). And you'll need quite a bit more than 150bhp to even touch SRT-4 territory (which is 13.8-14.1 in the 1/4 mile)

Where are you getting your weight from? did you actually weigh your car on a scale or pull numbers off the net? 2nd Gens are supposed to weigh in at about 2560lbs (i do not think that includes any options, such as ATX, AC, PW/W, PW/MR, etc...) and that is without the driver. I have a 97 with pretty much all the weight adding options minus the ATX trans (i have pwr W/L, moonroof, AC, fogs, etc...) and with everything that came with the car (spare tire, jack, floormats, etc..) plus roughly 10-15lbs worth of tools and roughly a half tank of gas I weigh in at about 2620 at the scale... which is quite light considering I AM IN THE CAR. I dont know where you are getting your info from, but the 2nd Gen neon (even the R/T) is not the holy grail of sport compacts, nor is the 1st Gen. I feel sorry for the unsuspecting neon owner who tries to take on a Integra Type R or RSX Type S (not to mention the new Civic Si)... If the driver can drive no neon (excluding SRT-4) will touch them stock for stock or mod for mod. The 1G ACR's are closest and still lagging by roughly .5 seconds in the 1/4 stock to stock. But yes, I know we are bench racing and anything can happen on the street (oops i mean track), especially when most honda/acura owners cant drive theyre rice-burners, whether they're quick or slow. AND I DO NOT favor honda, so nobody start accusing me of that again. I just give credit where credit is due. YOU do the math, i've done it already.

BTW... the SOHC is just as old as the DOHC, the magnums just have a fancy head (which is new, yes).

lol well said...! and btw i eat them new civic si's up lol! and im not positive on this but dont the stock 2000+ ( excluding srt-4) weigh more and aernt the slower then the 1st gens stock? hp matters only to a certain extint guys... u can have a 69 charger thats pushing 600 hp and if its completely street legal and has a role cage and if it was to race a turbo gsr ( with right driver and correct build ) and gsr had about 350+ hp chances are it could beat the charger due to power to weight ratio's... on streetfire u can see something similiar to the with a cavalier ( turbo on stock internals) and some old old big block car... btw for the record honda's suck but some of them are rather fast and if im correct on this the new civic si is ranking in 160 hp in a car that weighs ( this is a guess) 2200 lbs give or take. Also another quick honda with the right driver would be a h22 vtec prelude ( 2nd gen 5speed ) ranks in at 190 hp in a car that wieghs 2700 give or take.... so a stock neon is not to fast lol.

The '06 Civic Si has the same engine/trans as the RSX Type-S (K20 something is the engine code I believe), but unlike the RSX the 6-spd trans has a LSD. Specs are 122ci (2.0L), 197bhp @ 7800rpm, 139ft/lbs @ 6200rpm, 4.77:1 final drive ratio, 11.0:1 compression, and a plump 2875lb curb wieght. Still heavy by my standards... REALLY heavy... damn safety regulations.. airbags and all that crap. Of course a 7 Speaker audio system with amp and subwoofer does nothing to help lower weight either... With some strategic interior removal the curb weight can easily be dropped to around 2500lbs... And besides, the Si wasnt meant to be a drag racer, like the ACR it is meant to "make time where other cars must slow down to survive." (sorry, stole Lotus's slogan for the Elise/Exige)

The H22 Prelude looks like a declawed kitten compared to the S2000.... (drool, drool)

Honda s2000 ( 2000-2005 ) runs 14.2(2.0)-14.9(2.2) stock ( varies in the years) and is pusing 240 hp @ 161lbs of torque @ 2809 lbs.. ( 6speed)

Honda prelude ( 97-01 ) runs 15.1( 2.2) stock and is pushing 190-200hp ( american version) @ 156lb of torque @2954lbs.... ( 5 speed ) ( the jdm h22 comes with like 218 stock hp or some jumbo like that)
Honda prelude ( 92-96) runs 15.1 also ( 2.2) stock is only 190 hp and is 158lbs of torque @ 2809lbs though...
not sure if the s2000 is using a h22 or not honestly lol just know they used to be a 2.0 and now are the 2.2...

and the k20 motor is a POS i seen a stock z24 cavy put 2+ cars on a stock k20 civic ex... a 2dr coupe new civic wieghs roughly 2405lbs...
the ex k20 is only a 1.7 pushing 127 hp @ 114 lbs of torque...
the SI is a 2.0 pushing 160 hp @ 132 lbs of torque...
im not sure where ur getting ur numbers at but im getting em from official consumer guide site and the 2002-2005 acura rsx is 160 hp@141 lbs of torque ( 5speed which is wat the CIVIC SI HAS) and 200-210hp @142 lbs of torque ( 6speed, type S) @ average weight of 2721 lbs....
i dont know wat my car wieghs seeing as ive stripped out alot of the wieghts and im not sure of my hp atm but i beat a k2o SI civic on the high way with out n2o!

Honda NEVER put a K20 engine in a civic EX (in fact, never put a 2.0L in an EX... period), therefore you couldnt have seen a Z24 put 2+ cars on a stock K20 Civic EX.
The lightest model civic coupe ('06) weighs just under 2600lbs (2593, give or take). The weight you found (2405lbs) is for the 2001-2002 civic coupes. After that they get heavier.
ConsumerGuide.com has decent info, but it isnt the most reliable site on the net. And they only list info up to 2004 for the civic if i remember correctly.
The "K20" you found is the 2.0L engine in the base RSX and the fugly hatchback civic Si (2001-2005). Your numbers are correct for that (160hp, etc..). Yes, that is the same block as the K20 (3.4 X 3.4) but it is far from the same engine. The K20 is the high revving (8200rpm redline), high compression, 197bhp beast found in the RSX Type-S and the '06 Civic Si ONLY. (yes you can argue they were also in the RSX Type-R's, tuned for more power, but chances are you will never see a Type-R in the states) The Type-S numbers you found are flawed, correct, but flawed. The '06 Si engine is identical to the Type-S engine, but due to new SAE standards, output is now rated at 197bhp, not the 201-210 supposedly in the Type-S (the guys at Acura couldnt make up their minds, pre 03 was rated at 201bhp, 03 was rated at 210bhp, and then after 03 the rating returned to 201bhp... I believe the number is corrected at 197bhp for '06)

But enough talk about Honda's......... Its making me sick.

I raced the Civic hatchback SI.............it is ugly and it is not enough to take my Neon out from a 55-65 mph roll. This was b4 my exhaust work and it runs a heck of alot better now that the Fuel/Air mix is good. LOL

the civic ex i beleave its ex ne way im talking about does come with the k20 the engine code is k20 but its a 1.7 version.... and z24 wasted it and i know z24s are slow as hell lol the new civic si's are rather quick im not debating there not lol... the fugly hatchbacks are not wat im talking about and there slow as hell...

I have also raced a J-spec Prelude motor crammed into a Civic DX. If it hadnt been for the road runing out I bet I coulda gotten around him. He sure as hell wasn't gaining any ground on me LOL. Id like to try again now that the car is running right and my Acc. belt isnt going to fly off on the shift to 3rd .
